IGNITE TO TRANSFORM 🔥

Movement for a courageous and liberated life.

A dynamic vinyasa practice rooted in lineage for modern movers.

I offer more than a physical yoga practice, I foster an experience of embodied transformation. Inviting students into a practice that is precise, heartfelt, and vibrantly alive, I draw from a rich foundation in movement, meditation, journey work, subtle body practices, and mythology.

Crafting sequences that move beyond the pole of opposites - strength and fluidity, focus and play, grounding and expansive - I infuse sweat with presence, depth, and soul, honoring lineage with an intuitive understanding of modern bodies.

Rooted in years of study in classical Yoga, Buddhism, psychology, somatics, and functional movement, I artfully weave these disciplines into a dynamic, intelligent, creative vinyasa practice.

Through evocative storytelling, poetic guidance, and meditative awareness, I guide students into a meaningful exploration of self, awakening strength, clarity, and the inner fire that fuels a courageous, liberated life.

PRACTICE

Join me for a week of life-changing yoga & jungle adventures in the sacred land of Costa Rica. This retreat will touch the inner most depths of what it means to be a practitioner with asana book ending each day - deep & dynamic solar Vinyasa practices in the morning & candlelit lunar slow flow mobility practices to send us off to bed - with dharma teachings, self-inquiry, breath work and meditation woven through. During the day, we’ll take our practice off the mat and into nature, frolicking in the luscious jungle sanctuary and crystal clear waves of Uvita, Costa Rica.

Ignite to transform!

Ignite to transform!

hi, I’m Jessica.

I’m a yoga teacher, marriage and family therapist, and lifelong student, with over 12 years of teaching experience, and over 23 years on the mat. My journey with yoga began when I was 12 years old with Bryan Kest in my hometown Santa Monica.  Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of studying with incredible teachers including Maty Ezraty, Annie Carpenter, Joan Hyman, Janet Stone, Shiva Rea, Tias Little, Jason Crandell, Patrick Beach, and Carling Harps.  Over a decade of studying with senior teachers from the West culminated in a 3 year residency at Mount Madonna Center where I studied and taught under Baba Hari Dass. I continued my yoga studies on a three month pilgrimage in India.

My teaching is a blend of classical wisdom and modern movement science. I hold space for students to not only build physical capacity and experience greater freedom in their bodies, but to deepen in awareness, come back to the body, the breath, and the deeper truth of who we are, to awaken a more courageous and liberated life.

I’ve spent the last 8 years teaching in Santa Cruz, California offering weekly studio classes, workshops, and international yoga retreats, as well as teaching in both 200 hour and 300 hour yoga teacher trainings.

“I cannot speak highly enough about Jessica who is an exceedingly talented yoga teacher. Her classes are inspiring, challenging, and strength building. There’s a strong focus on alignment and technique with a concurrent emphasis on breath and flow, so it’s everything you could possibly want in one class.” ~N
